The European Commission has recently adopted the revision of the Strategic Energy Technology (SET) Plan, initially launched in 2009. The plan aims to accelerate the development of clean and cost-effective technologies.

In accordance with the New Battery Regulations, Batteries Europe provides the most recent developments on critical Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for every link in the battery value chain.

A joint online session titled “Supercharging the Workforce: How to Prepare for a Battery-Powered Future” was presented by Batteries Europe and BEPA as part of EUSEW, the European Sustainable Energy Week, on June 20.

On June 7, a hybrid meeting held in Brussels and online served as Batteries Europe’s second Plenary Session. The event was attended by over 200 stakeholders, including over 200 online visitors and about 90 attendees in person.

Batteries Europe’s Task Force on Safety has launched the first Safety Key Performance Indicator with the aim to become “a reference for current and forthcoming EU R&I actions”.

Batteries Europe initiative has published the Key Performance Indicator Benchmarking and Target KPIs report, composed of a glossary section gathering the most relevant terms per battery value chain segment, complemented with the corresponding KPI values for 2023 and forecasting research progress to 2027, 2030 and 2035.

Batteries Europe is composed of integrated Working Groups and Task Forces on cross-cutting topics for experts from the entire battery value chain.

From 14 to 17 November 2022, the Transport Research Arena, which is a European research and technology conference on transport and mobility took place in Lisbon, Portugal.

On 9-10 November 2022, partners of Batteries Europe attended the 16th SET Plan conference: Towards a new strategic energy technology plan In Prague, Czech Republic.

Batteries Europe took part in the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW), which is the biggest annual event dedicated to renewables and efficient energy use in Europe and includes a series of activities aimed at building a secure energy future for Europe.
